Waste Management – Shaping a Greener, More Sustainable Future

Are you a well-motivated self-starter who enjoys a challenge? If so, this might be the perfect opportunity to join a busy service delivery team at a time of significant development and change.

We provide waste and recycling services for all 236,000 households across Wiltshire, collecting waste and recycling, and we manage a network of 10 household recycling centres. We work hard to keep as much waste out of landfill as possible by maximising opportunities for recycling and reuse or recovering energy from waste that can’t be recycled, whilst making a significant contribution to reducing carbon emissions

As a Waste Project Officer, you will work closely with the Waste Strategy and Projects Manager to offer essential technical project support to the Waste Transformation Programme. You will be responsible for conducting research and analysing complex data, which will directly contribute to the annual review of the Council’s Household Waste Management Strategy. In addition to leading specific projects, you will offer specialised technical waste project information to a range of stakeholders.

We are looking for individuals with proven technical research and project management skills, able to ensure that planned outcomes are achieved, as well as monitoring and reporting progress throughout. Excellent written and verbal communication skills the ability to undertake detailed research: interpreting and communicating outputs in the form of briefing notes or business cases, to a range of audiences will be essential. You will have an outstanding attention to detail, be comfortable managing numerical data and will take a proactive approach to developing initiatives, ensuring successful programme delivery.
