Waste Management – Shaping a Greener, More Sustainable Future
Are you looking for the next step in your career? We have an exciting opportunity within our client management team for a Waste Collection Team Leader. Available on a two-year fixed term contract, this is a pivotal role in an extremely busy frontline customer facing service, as we enter a period of significant development and change.
If you recognise yourself as a highly adaptable self-starter who can manage a team of eight technical officers, in a challenging but rewarding environment, this is the role for you. It is a new role so a fantastic opportunity to work with the Waste Collections and Business Support Manager to shape the position and help develop the team you will be leading.
You will possess an enthusiasm for protecting the environment and high standards of service delivery, working with your team to encourage residents to reduce their waste, reuse what they can, and recycle what they cannot. You will be a fast learner: able to quickly understand the collections contract; service policies; and the legislation relevant to the services we deliver. You will be skilled in developing relationships at all levels, across a variety of services within the authority, as well as with external partners and service providers.
Excellent ICT skills are essential, as well as a high level of numeracy and literacy with an ability to interpret complex data, and an ability to produce and present technical reports. A sound working knowledge of health and safety legislation, and practice would be beneficial, alongside a working understanding of the legislation that governs waste management services, including the waste hierarchy.
