Reablement is working with people in their own homes, and promoting independence, while helping only when the person needs it.

Reablement is provided to people by Middlesbrough Council, for a short amount of time. The aim is to keep people at home, as independent as possible. The hardest part of learning to be a Reablement Officer is doing with, rather than, doing for. For example, it is much harder support someone to make a cup of tea for themselves rather than making it for them.

We have worked with people from the age of 18, and to date the oldest customer we have worked with is 101. We work with people from all walks of life, with no judgement.

Benefits of working with Middlesbrough Council include, generous mileage allowance, free training, sports and leisure membership discount scheme and generous annual leave allowance.

You will be issued with a mobile phone and laptop to support you with your visits.

Working for the Reablement Team would also allow you to apply for a Blue Light Card.

This is a fixed term post until 31.03.2025 working 32.50 hours per week.
