Job Description

We are currently seeking to recruit a product support engineer for our CMM and Gauging product range. Our advanced technology is widely applied within the most diverse, demanding and technologically advanced engineering sectors including, but not limited to, manufacturing, aerospace, automotive and medical.

The successful candidate will join a continuously growing engineering team to support a diverse range of Renishaw products and customer solutions across the UK and Renishaw’s global subsidiary offices in 74 countries.

Responsibilities

  • Provision of technical support to existing customers via multiple media options

  • Investigation of product failures and production of technical documentation and communications to address issues

  • Support and training of subsidiary service teams and acting as a conduit between the service and design teams

  • Close collaboration with product development teams to promote a continuous improvement mentality

  • Supporting the flow of technical information and communications outward to subsidiary engineers and end users

Key requirements

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical or Electronic engineering

  • Ability to produce professional technical documentation

  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Good analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • An understanding of customer requirements including typical manufacturing processes

  • Good commercial awareness

  • A valid passport ensuring unrestricted travel to and from the UK

  • A valid UK driving licence

Desirable requirements

  • Experience in continuous improvement

  • Knowledge of metrology principles, particularly when applied to the use of a CMM

  • Practical expertise in the use of CMM metrology software

Person specification

The successful applicant will be self-motivated, accountable, committed to tackling any challenge and disciplined. The individual must be adaptable, logical thinking, well organised, have good communication skills and an aptitude for problem solving. Working well as part of a team is essential.

Location

The role will be based at our New Mills site near Wotton-under-Edge in Gloucestershire.
